Lead Plaintiff motion deadline- $XPOF investor filed a claim vs. Xponential & its seniors for hiding the true financial state of the Company, which led to thier losses.
- In December, Businessweek's exposing article sent $XPOF lower by 26%, wiping out $100M+ shareholder value over 2 days.
On December 7, 2023, Businessweek published an article titled “Club Pilates, Pure Barre Owners Say Xponential Left Them Bankrupt” which stated that Businessweek had interviewed dozens of former business partners, employees, and franchisees of Xponential who revealed that Xponential misled many franchisees into a “financial nightmare.”
The article stated Geisler “has a track record of combative management, deploying growth-at-all-costs tactics and unleashing aggressive reprisals against anyone who gets in his way.”
On this news, $XPOF fell 26% over two trading days and lost over $100 million of its market capitalization, damaging investors.
Earlier, on June 26, 2023, Fuzzy Panda Research published a report accusing Xponential of hiding the fact that many of their brands and franchisees are struggling.
- The report stated that, despite the CEO's claims that the Company has never closed a store, Fuzzy Panda found over 30 permanently closed stores.
- Fuzzy Panda also claimed that 8 out of every 10 Xponential brands are losing money monthly, with over half of Xponential studios never making a positive financial return.
On this news, $XPOF fell 37.4% and lost over $290 million of its market capitalization, seriously damaging shareholders.
Considering all the information, investors might suspect that Xponential intentionally misrepresented its financials, which led to its losses.
The first affected investor has already filed the initial claim in the court of C.D. of California.
